Small gilt copper alloy strap-end, from the strap of shield 1939,1010.94. The strap-end is roughly rectangular, with two rivets attaching it to a small piece of leather at one end. The other end is rounded off as a 'snout', with a central panel containing a diamond pattern, creating a zoomorphic impression with the two rivets acting as 'eyes'.
