Silver buckle, incomplete, comprising part of the buckle-plate, the complete tongue-plate, and part of the tongue and loop. The buckle-plate has two rivets, one with a domed rivet-head, and two complete cast loops, which form the hinge with the tongue-plate. It is decorated with a punched design along the edges and in a line down the centre. The tongue-plate has two empty rivet holes, and is decorated with a punched band along the long edge bearing the hinge, which crosses in the centre and curves upwards to meet the rivets. The hinge is grooved. This buckle forms a pair with buckle 1939,1010.138. Excavated from Area C and shoes complex.
